The Best Hard Time is a memoir of Tawny’s love story with Bunny. Tawny met Bunny when she was in her mid 40s, not long after her previous marriage ended, and she had moved back to Northern California. They fell hard for each other, right away. Two and a half months into their dating the Pandemic hit and they found themselves in a bubble together with their pets.  Three months into the Pandemic Bunny was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer, and within the year that changed to a terminal status- when “PART 2” of Tawny’s life began.  When Bunny died, on February 6th, 2022, it was merely 25 months after their first date.

 

This memoir outlines Tawny’s life, leading up to her meeting of Bunny, and then focuses on the love, loss and healing that transpired across the years to follow.

 

This book is for her fellow companions in “The Tribe of After” who, like her, have had deep, life-changing grief. She hopes sharing her tale of the brief, but transformational time she had with Bunny, will foster connection and healing amongst us.
